Mechanical Engineers have an exciting and rewarding career in applying technology to solve engineering problems and design solution for industry and the community.
Exciting news! New NZDE coming soon
(New Zealand Diploma in engineering)
Development is nearly complete on a new version of the NDE to be called the NZDE (New Zealand Diploma in Engineering). This is planned to be offered from Feburary 2011 with the phasing out of the NDE. This will better meet the needs of students and industry, and will have a closer alliance with the Civil and Electrical Diplomas. This development is being lead by IPENZ as part of the Engineering Education plan for NZ and covers all levels of engineering education.
The NZDE (mechanical) is very similar to the existing NDE and transition from NDE to NZDE will be easy. The NZDE is currently (as of August) waiting for NZQA approval and therefore information supplied here is for reference only. All information about the NZDE is still subject to approval and may therefore be subject to change without notice.
