National Diploma in Engineering (NDE) - Mechanical Engineering
The NDE qualification is being updated and replaced with the new New Zealand Diploma of Engineering (NZDE). Most providers will be offering the NZDE from 2010. Students currently working towards the NDE may complete that qualification in 2011 or transfer to the new NZDE. Please contact your provider about the transission arrangements.

The National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) (NDE) is a level 6 diploma that is gets you ready for employment as engineering Technicians in the fast changing technological age that we now live in. Technicians are essential members of the design team and sort after by industry for their level of practical knowledge and skills that the Diploma qualification gives them. The Diploma will also give you entry into the 3 year (BEngTec) or the 4 year (BE) Degree should you decide to progress further.Three strands are available with the NDE
