Minimum Academic Entry Criteria (NZDE)

For entry to this programme, applicants are required to have -
A minimum total of 48 NCEA credits at level 2 in four subjects including at least 12 credits in mathematics, or equivalent qualifications, trades training and/or demonstrated skills and experience. (see notes below)

Language Requirements
In addition to meeting the minimum entry criteria, those applicants for whom English is a second language (including International students) must meet the language requirement –
• Overall Band Score (Academic) of 6.0 IELTS, with no individual score less than 5.5, or equivalent.

Note.
1
If you are unsure if you meet the entry criteria, then contact you local provider.  The section on "equivalent qualifications, trades training" is hard to define and is often on the judgement of the local provider.  There are provisions for special admission where the entry level has not been met but other experience or qualification can be shown.

2
For students who have the required math credits but not done math for a couple of year, it is recommended that you do one of the following:
- Revise your level 2 math yourself
- Attend a revision math course (possible summer school)
- attend a level 2 math course
Again, contact your provider for their recommendations and options.
